I just ordered an ae with the enhanced ford software. I connected to the truck and started to play around with it. I wanted to check and see which one of my injectors is sticking on me when cold. So I done the power balance test while cold and well it showed flat line. Looks as if all are even.
Now I do not feel the sticking until I hit about 1800 rpm or above. So is it possible that it's not bad enough to show up on the ae at idle? Is there a way to test it whith a higher rpm. I raised the rpm but the graph when above the screen. I know the test works off of reading rpm after each cyl. Any input or tip for the ae.
I like the scan tool so far. Does a goodbit for trouble shooting. And for the price I think it's worth the investment.
IIRC the last tab has a drop down for set idle speed. Then try redoing cylinder contrib graph. Have you tried the koeo/ koer tests? It has been a while since mine has been able to connect to my truck so I could be wrong. Btw what settings did you use to get it to detec your vin?

My AE does the same thing. What computer operating system are you using?
It connects to the truck with no issues. I used the get vin connection. As far as settings... I selected full install and not the custom instal if that's what your asking. I will have to check for the idle setting.
The KOEO test passed except for brake but who knows when to hit it. And the KOER test passed also.
So in the last tab I can set a different idle for the power balance test.

It has been a while since I did mine due to issues. But I was able to set the idle speed on my car with it but it just depends on the features it allows per vehicle. I do not know for certain it is capable.
I am useing on a hp with windows 8. It's a brand new laptop

Windows 7 here with a year old laptop that has plenty of juice. I've been back and forth with AE about it but they "head cheese" says if mine were a common issue they'd get blown up about it. I've done everything they said to do, including taking my computer to "as bought" condition and it still won't run the power balance with the newest revisions. I gave up......

It runs the power balance but it's not showing any drop in rpm so it's saying all are good.
can you rev the truck and see the red line move or is it an absolutely straight line all the time?
The red line moves when you increase the rpms and the line moves a little while it idle. There just ain't no drop like a sticking injector. But I can only feel or notice the sticking injector around 2000 rpms but smooths out once warm.

I see that they released a newer version (12) Is that what you're running? Maybe I need to prompt them even though I'm sure my subscription has run out and since I've been trying to get mine fixed for almost 3 months.
