I'm not sure what version it is. Did you see anything in the video that didn't look right.

Looked like the graph line was ALL low but consistent. If you want to raise the RPM's you can go actuate them manually with the AE program but I'm not sure it will stay when you run the power balance test.
To find the version you're running open the scan tool program, click help, then click about. The version will be in the bottom left corner of the about screen.
I tried to raise the rpm that way while doing the test but it won't. Do it. I didn't try to raise before the test.

I'm not sure why you'd want to raise it above idle anyway. Just make sure the engine is up to full operating temperature for an accurate test. I DO understand wanting it to run on startup so that you can see a skipping injector though.
I do have version 12.
I wanted to raise rpm because that is the only time I can feel the skip. Around 2000 rpm. I don't feel it at idle and the test is not showing anything at idle so I still don't know which one it is. I wanted to find out which one it is so I can replace it when I tear down the engine starting in a few days.
I had a rough idle last winter at startup and poured in some revx and switched to rotella t6. There was a huge improvement after that. But there was still 1 little skip after the revx and now it's back this winter. I wanted to go ahead and find out which one so I could take care of it while I was in there.
Not sure why it's not working for you. Could be either windows or software. Don't know.
On another note. I emailed them and ales about running the test with a higher rpm. He told me to raise and maintain the rpm where I want them then start the test and it should test at the rpm it's running when the test is started. I'll give it a try when I get a little time. Maybe wed before I can get to it.

Windows 7 and all the updates. IE 11 not that it matters.
Everything else runs fine. I even tried it with a much shorter communication cord as they suggested. Just gives me a red line that never moves.
If yall are referring to the proline connector with the key dongle I have that with firmware 38 installed.
I just tried the power balance on my laptop with Win7 Pro x64 and the latest versions. It worked just fine. It has worked fine on my other Win7 Pro x64 laptop as well.
is there a chance there is a different version windows 8 like windows 8.1 or something. maybe the 8.1 or what ever something was left out to not work right with it.
as a side note... I did try what the guy from AE told me to try. I raised the RPM then started the power balance test and it tested it there. I used my high idle switch and it tested it there and also I held it at 2200rpm then tested and it tested it there. you just have to hold your foot steddy to hold the rpm.
I didn't see any injectors falling off the chart but I did notice that numbers 1,3,5,7 were kinda crazy. they kept dropping just a little it was hard to see on the chart but it was happening. it wasn't every time either. so being as they are all on one side im thinking that maybe were im leaking my HPO.
really a nice program for trouble shooting and also just a nice "check up" thing too.
