Engine issues
In the winter my truck has been having issues with the engine. It starts fine, but until it is driven at highway speeds for a period it makes a strange Psssht (i guess?) noise for approximately 1 second with power loss, it goes away and a few seconds later it comes back. Took to dealership but they could not diagnose it. Anyone else had this problem? Does not do it in the summer.

So, is that normal? It does it even though i plug it in when it is cold out. Never heard my dad's 97 powerstroke make that sound. Thanks for the reply! And, no. I was not impressed with the ONLY ford dealership in my area.

Mine does this as well, but at all speeds with very very slight or no throttle only until close to operating temperature. I've been told it has to do with the PCM, or computer and slight variances in the way they were burned. We have 10 more 7.3s in our fleet and mine is the only one I've experienced this in.
I'd say everything is operating normally, but I do find it annoying because it causes a slight deceleration when cruising. But I like my EBPV in general.
