Saw this when I was delivering my 8n to it's new owners last week. Just for yucks, I put out some feelers with a couple of guys I know that are local to that area. Looks like it hasn't been used much lately. Factory job? Looks like an easy one to hide in the woods on my place.....
About twice what I pay for it and .70 per mile delivery... I swear I don't buy trucks just to flip them, but I have owned something like 48 of them, and oftentimes someone asks if I 'want to sell that old truck'. I put 3 kids through college on old trucks and my 4th is at the tech school for welding right now, so it still isn't over..... (my secret is I have NEVER had anything rechromed, powder coated or painted for that matter, and I 'rebuild' with used parts, of which I have a huge collection).

At .70 I lose a little money per mile but all the way to NY, I'd make up for it in volume! It was kinda fun to turn a corner and see this thing just sitting there looking a bit 'unloved'. Actually got an email this afternoon from one of the local contacts that said he'd put a note on the windshield with my phone#.

Very cool GB. If i drug that home the roll bar would have to come out. Reminds me that when I get some more cash I have to go revisit that 65 F100 4x4 I found.
This is the 65 F100 4x4. If I get it bought and get in trouble with the boss lady, I'm gonna blame it all on you GB. Maybe tomorrow will be a good day to see if its still there.
That's a really nice looking truck! I am willing to take all the blame for sure. My first truck was a '65 f100 when I was 19, back in about '72. Still love the slicks, but haven't owned one since. Good luck on this deal. I have always found this is a great time of year to be secretive. You get to say stuff, like "don't go peeking behind the shed", or something like that. You better have something kinda big and special for her on Christmas morning, but this buys some time, and lets you sneak off by yourself on Saturday morning. " Going on a 'special' shopping trip."........
Just played my voicemail messages from yesterday. Lo and behold, there's one from the truck's owner saying to give him a call. Good thing it's camo..... Maybe leave it at a buddy's place till the panel truck thing wears off. It does however need to be pretty cheap. I wonder if it runs? 223? Here goes. It's Friday the 13th as well. I'll call it 'Freddy' (Krueger).....Dang, got HIS voicemail. Details as they unfold
Still telephone tag. Of course I don't want to appear too anxious. I assume it's a more valuable truck if it's factory 4x4. If he doesn't know, how do I tell? Vin #, of maybe ask him to look for triangular braces? Are those gussets behind the seat? I have been down this road before. He might say 5000.00 or it could be 250.00. I like it way better when they don't run.
GB; Here is the data tag info from my illustration catalog, showing the model numbers for 4wheel drive.
Yes the triangular gussets would be an indicator along with the springs on the radiator support to frame mount.
