No tail lights

No tail lights
Hey guys, I got a 2004 6.0L with signal lights, brake lights, but no running tail lights when the switch is on. There was a trailer plug harness clipped in, but we do all gravel driving with this truck and it came in the shop with the ends of the wiring ripped off, and plug smashed from rocks, so I unplugged the harness completely from the truck. My question is, two wires come out of a another harness, and I think went into the trailer plugs, and one green wire off the tailight harness is cut by the looks of it, but I cant find where it is supposed to go, I can upload pictures after lunch, but I am previously a GMC guy until lately we switch to 6.0ls.
