As long as you are happy, it does not really matter if we think you paid a reasonable price or not. Each person will have a reason to have have a difference of opinion.

If its a nice as it sounds, I would say you did ok, especially knowing the history.

But it did not happen for real, if you do not have pic pics posted here real soon. lol In this day and technical age a picture is as simple as snapping your fingers. lol

I'm going to get you your pics. We're just covered in snow right now. I've gotta get to the shed and pull it out for good angles. Otherwise, they'll be dark and too close to the truck. I've only got about 4 feet of available space all the way around the truck and no lighting. I should've parked it inside my garage at home, but my wife didn't want to give up her spot.

Okay... maybe I shouldn't have said Mustangs, but I was trying to make the point that cars seem to be a thing of the past around here. Most have gone to crew cab pickups, instead of sedans. I guess it's just our geographical area that steers most away from cars. I don't know. We're over-populated with rednecks. LOL! I'm really no different, myself.

You should see my driveway.
Three trucks and I live in the city.
I don't understand how a guy can live without one, or two, or...........50.

I agree, when I was younger I remember how tuners were the big thing. Seems like you couldn't go a mile down the road without seeing a 96 Honda civic with a "fart can" and rims on it. I guess you can thank the Fast and the Furious for that. In the past 5 years it seems like everyone wants a truck. Lets face it, there's nothing more manly than a dentside Ford. Especially one housing a mean BBF. I know I wouldn't trade mine for ANY car. (Unless I could sell it to buy more trucks)

Tell that to my wife. She seems to think it's okay to own a small SUV and haul grass clippings in the back, as long as you lay down plastic. She thinks it's overkill for me to own my '00 4x4 F150. I have to have my trucks.

Those cars **** me off! I'm a Police Officer and those are what I dislike the most on the streets. We don't see many of them around here, but there's always those select few guys who have them. I love how you refer to the mufflers as fart cans! LOL! I've got something new to say now. I couldn't agree with you more on the manliness of a dentside Ford. I can't wait to be able to get mine out and play. Kansas weather can sure suck sometimes.

My wife thinks I am crazy going through a mid-life crisis of sorts with these old trucks. I flew to Bakersfield in September to pick up a pristine '79 F-350 SC 4X4 and have dropped a bundle into it making it "mine." Had complete exhaust system replaced with headers and dual exhaust with Flowmasters. Then new intake and Edelbrock 750 CFM, complete MSD ignition system and now that she breathes the 460 runs vastly better than when I bought it. Got new glass and tinting along with door windows and vent windows new seals. Next up to the body shop where my son works to freshen up the paint and fix some issues the previous painter overlooked. It was a very nice truck when I got it, but these were things I wanted. Plus, it helps us see what we want/need to do with the frame off restoration we are doing on the other 1979 SC 4X4. In the meantime I drive the 1977 F350 SC 2WD until we pull the body to complete body work before putting it on the '79 being restored.

I never expect to get what I invest into these trucks, but I am not doing this as an investment other than an investment in my mental health. My first new truck was an 1975 Ranger in 2WD and sold it to buy a new 1976 F150 4X4 and had to sell it when I transferred to England in 1977. I've wanted to replace them for years and now I can. I prefer the 1979 F350 SC over my 2009 F150 4X4 SuperCrew Platinum. Not that the F350 drives or rides anywhere as well as the 2009, but it takes me back to a different time.

I have a brand new grandson and I hope to give them to him someday to drive and appreciate.

Wow! I actually had a good time reading this. It's like Christmas every day for you. What's it like having that kind of financial freedom to buy these trucks and do as you wish with them? I always keep a little bit of play cash on hand, but I'm still not in the position to be doing anything I wish. I'm sure it helps a lot having a son in the body work business. Not many have that luxury, so good for you! Take full advantage of that. If I knew how to do body work, and I had that tools and facility, I'd be restoring these old Fords like crazy. Those big SC 4x4s can be awesome if done right. You're the kind of guy I wish I had as a neighbor. Someone you can always drop in on and look at what you've done to your trucks since our last visit. Those are good beer-drinking times.

You know what's cool about our trucks is you don't need a boat load of dough.
You can hit the PnPs and do real well. The body work is pretty easy if not time consuming.
But if you have the money screw it, you only get one shot in this life so you may as well make yourself happy.

I would say that if you are happy with the truck and it puts a smile on your face every time you jump in the drivers seat, then it is money well spent. $6 grand does not buy much nowadays, especially if the truck is in nice shape.

But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html Bob's link is not working. Can someone in the know tell me why?

How to upload pictures to the FTE Forums. - YouTube. Thanks Sam Rusty_Old_F250. Best we can find is that this video was done by Gundown64
