Yes, the F-350 could be either single rear wheel (SRW) or dual rear wheel (DRW). The SRW was a 9' Express bed pickup while the DRW was a flat bed or stake bed. Naturally the F-500 and bigger models were all DRW (with some custom application exceptions). Stu
Yes, the f350 usually had duallys. Almost every one I've seen has some sort of flatbed or service body however I did see one picture of an F350 with a 9ft flare side bed with duallys(flares extended farther than a standard flareside). I'll see if I can dig the pictures of.
This is mine, '59 F250 with '59 F350 dually running gear. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do for fender flares.

For the record, though, no pickup bed trucks came DRW from the factory until the early 1980s iirc from what Bill (Number Dummy) has said. Stu
Collin, I didn't think the p-u box would fit over the f350 gear, but yours seems lined up in your styleside wheel wells. I would have thought you'd need to tub the inner fender wells to go around the factory cab/chassis wheel spread. BTW, I love the red frame and the nice detailing on your chassis.
Nice looking truck, Colin. That's close to what I have in mind for my F350, after it retires from grain hauling. Should make a heckuva solid pickup!
I may try to incorporate the hoist under the pickup box, just to have the best of both worlds.

Thanks! You're right, it has a 1.5" wheel spacers on each side in the back(total 3" wider overall). Had to have them custom made, I can try to find who it was if you want.
Already solved mine by using a wider axle from a dually pickup as opposed to a dually cab/chassis. I don't plan on running it as a dually. I wanted it set up like the older f350 pickups, dodge powerwagons etc.
My (grandpa's) 59 f350 is a DRW as well, whats neat about it is that it has the 17.5 rims that are not the widow-maker split rims. I should find an engine for it...
Your Grandpa's truck? Of course you should find an engine for it. Then take him for a ride if he's still with us!
unfortunately no, lost him about 15 years ago and lost dad back in august. they built "wilbur" about the same time I was born. that is a little body work, about a couple feet of frame stretch, engine/tranny, and a dump box.
It currently has a tool box between cab and box, but im pretty sure the strech was to fit a sleeper. it has a 324 olds rocket/powerglide in it (i'm pretty sure it was just what they had, it has a hole in a piston)
It was grandpa's baby, and he used it for firewood (still have the dump trailer he built too) after his health kept him from being able to drive truck anymore.
me and dad always talked about finding a 6v53 detroit (grandpa loved those leaky turds) and twin sticking it. I'd be happy with a wore out 6.9.
