Thats not to say I havent fixed units in the field that broke down due to something simple.

In fact, without being clever, you'd never be able to connect my work and personal lives online. I use a different first name at work to keep things seperate. My industry is very strict about public perception so I decided to make it hard to connect work with my personal life. But I also keep my social media pretty clean too.
Must be a California politician.

How is life Arnold ?

Just having fun.

OK V10 owners... not that I'd ever own one, I am curious how the support for the V10 fares vs. what you see on this forum. Please guys... please.... I'm not looking at gas vs. diesel, V8 vs. V10, economy wars, or any other form of hosing the place down with testosterone. I'm curious how the support for the V10 compares. We have Clay, Bob, FTE 7.3L forum, DP, Cody, and a host of unmentioned websites, members, and vendors. I know Stinky would have been gone early in the game were it not for the support here or through here. Is it the same for the V10? Is my coworker's husband going to be poised to pounce... or provoked to Powerstroke?
I have an early V10 myself. Changed the plugs myself. The plug blowing issue is not as common as one would think. These are great work horse engines and have proven reliable. They have plenty of towing power and if your not driving everyday can save some money on initial and maintenance cost. Unfortunately I dont see the mileage of a diesel. These engines do have some other miner issues as well like exhaust manifold studs rusting and causing leaks, or the 2 piece plugs requiring special tools to remove.

As far as modifications there are plenty of options out there. 5 star tuning (site sponsor), superchargers, exhaust mods such as headers and y pipe replacement. Others have talked highly about 4.30 gears some even gone as far as a 4.88 gear ratio with 35" tires.

to be honest, the V-10 has very little support in the aftermarket

there is 5 Star Tuning (a few other tuning shops out there as well), and then a few guys here and there for exhaust.

to be brutally honest, that lack of support is very likely the reason it has such a great reputation for being a dependable workhorse that lasts and lasts and lasts...while sucking down gas. Ford got the combo right in 1999. We all know how things start breaking once you being f'ing with it.

still, I wish there was support for the V-10 like the 4.6/5.4 has. I would love to put some hot rod cams in there, a healthy intake...etc. The 2v PI motor already makes decent power. With full bolt-ons I can see it easily putting 400 HP at the crank

also, the V-10 was never seen as a "hot rod". There was the limited foray into Superchargers by Kenne Bell and 1 other guy I can't remember the name of right now. Sales were abysmal, so they dropped it.

if the motor had been marketed in a "cooler" platform like the F-150 or Mustang, it would have a plethora of upgrades/support available.

the 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, and now the 6.7 get aftermarket support simply by existing. there is a certain draw for diesels that just suck guys in, myself included. I miss my old 6.0! But I have to admit that it's nice knowing that my V-10 will turn on everytime I desire, and go go go
