It really depends how it's dressed on the stand. I lift using the intake manifold surface, so I don't have the starter, generator, intake manifold, carb, etc. on it while on the stand, deducts at least a hundred pounds. Ditto for the flywheel and clutch. I have to agree, tho, you want a very heavy duty 4-wheel stand. It is also very lop-sided, so if you roll it 90-deg. from upright, there is a strong tendency to want to tip the stand to the side. That is one reason Ford used the exhaust bolts to mount the engine in stands, using something like below. Those are even able to handle the V12!
