2015 Ford Mustang radically new, retro, too

The 2.3L Ecoboost is a new addition in the ford stable and hopefully it will deliver reliable power and great MPG's.

Ford missed the mark on this one.
It looks like it was styled by committee.
I know the 'Grouper' looking grille is one of their cues, but what happened to the rest???

I'm liking the Ecoboost 4.
Hopefully they have gotten over those teething problems.

I think the first couple pictures in this gallery do the car more justice.

What's with the 'odd' shot of a different front wheel?
I thing the full frontal shot makes the headlights look like it is nodding out, not menacing.
But I have to be okay with the front.

IMO the deck is too high and the tail treatment is lacking focus.
Too much going on and no direction.
It might look better in black... IDK.

I am really hoping that I will be able to afford one of these... Maybe in '16?

Exterior design will hopefully grown on me, not too impressed.

Ecoboost motor is interesting though.

Don't really like it. I have always preferred more angular and sharper lines. What I see here is that Ford is moving away from that towards rounder lines and curves.

When I look at a Camry, Honda, Sonata and whatever else is in that category and just look at the silhouette (outline) they are all the same once you strip out the trim. At a glance I think they are all the same car and so don't care for them.

This Mustang looks to be starting into that ever so slowly. Also do not like the hood. I'll lay odds the hood on my 68 is lower than this one which means I can't see my front corners. I know mine is flatter and I am not a fan of bulges in the middle like this model.

As far as the rear, it seems all of today's cars have tall rear ends compared to past decades. Don't care for this either since it greatly limits my view of everything out the back

I was worried I wasn't going to like it when I saw some of the spy shots and renderings. But I think it looks pretty good. The headlights look a little strange to me at certain angles. But as a whole I really like the looks of it. I can't wait to see the performance editions ( Shelby's, Mach 1 or possibly bring back the Cobra ) .

The rear looks like a modernized 69 or 70 Mustang.

I think one of these GT's completely blacked out would look menacing! Too bad I'll never be able to afford one.

Amen brother! Preach on. It's the "Jell-O" strategy. One flavor available in 33 colors. What happened to automotive design? Most models are indistinguishable from one another.

Then maybe you need to get your eyes checked, or maybe stop watching Nascar for your new car releases?

Unlike Nascar, which even in the last few years they have changed a bit, car manufacturers seem to be doing a good job of keeping the market fresh and original. After the '80s and '90s where we saw a lot of similarly shaped jelly beans and boxes, think the K-cars/Crown Vic/etc... Car manufacturers are actually dropping lines and brands that already exist in the Big 3. For example, Ford dropped Mercury recently because all of Mercury's vehicles already existed in Ford's line-up. Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth are no longer synonymous with each other, in fact Plymouth no longer exists, and the only identical vehicle between the Dodge and Chrysler line-ups in the Caravan/Town and Country.

I think the car manufacturers are doing very well in the design category considering the federally mandated safety features that they have to design their cars around.

Additionally, the rear axle and suspension changes demanded some body changes. It's about time they dropped the traditional solid rear axle for the IRS. It'll be a better handling car but there is bound to be a price increase as the Mustang has no sibling to share the cost with.

So much for ULTIMATE TRUCK PICTURES
I truly hoped I could find a web site , for our trucks , that did not have the 2 or 3 people carrying on through out the entire thread with their personal egotistical nonsense.
The tie says PICTURE thread.

Oh well , this is the interweb .
