removing dash vents

removing dash vents
Good morning from the sunny but freezing West Coast. I hope you all got your anti freeze checked. My question today is in regards of dash vent removal. My new to me `92 has a cracked dash vent and my old `92 has three good ones. But how to remove them with out cracking them seems to elude me. Anyone done this before successfully? Factory manual is no help. Next stop would be an auto-body shop. Please share any tricks you might have up your sleeves. Thanks.

I figured it out by going to the pick and pull.
Basically there's 4 tabs (2 on the left and 2 on the right sides). Those tabs slide into holes on the vent duct.
Look at the picture in this eBay listing and you can kind of see the tabs on the sides that I'm talking about.

All you have to do is grab and pull and they come out. It helps if you slide a flat blade screw driver on the left side (or right) to bend the vent frame slightly so that the tabs can pop out of the holes in the duct.
Hope that helps...
