project 5.0 5 speed to C6 swap

While ive the engine and tranny out, i was wondering if i could get away with putting in a C-6 (1971 non electric), at the moment i am running 3:55 gears, non computerized engine. If memory serves me correctly the tranny was bolted to a 351C.Truck has slightly modified 5.0. My concern is the pulling aspect of it.Will the auto have enough to pull my gooseneck trailer without affecting milage fuel power. Im working on 60 and its getting hard to shift without spilling my coffee.haha. thanks again for any input yall might have. Also am running 33s on it no lift.

The c6 is a strong trans. You'll lose your overdrive but it will do just fine.
You'll need to figure out shift linkage. It won't be a direct swap with the cable shift the truck normally has.

i don't think you will be able to find a C-6 with a 302 bell housing bolt pattern. you will probably have to use a C-4.

The 351c has the 302 bolt pattern.
289-302-351w-351c-5 liter-5.8liter and 300-6 all share same bellhousing.
There were plenty of 302s and 351s with c6 behind them. No worries.
Just get correct flex plate for the engine and you're good. (50oz balance vs 28oz)
