I have discovered two electrical, multi wire plugs that dead end near the frame, left side of the spare, near the back of the truck.
They are both in large looms with end caps on them.
Can anyone tell me what these are for. I have tried the search option, but I don't know what they are called.
They are for the in-bed tailer connector that is installed as part of the 5th wheel prep package.
Bingo! The harness and in-bed plug can be purchased from your dealer. I tried an aftermarket plug and harness but ended up using the Ford part as it just seems to fit better.
This is what the plug looks like installed. You can get the kits from ford with out a 7 way RV plug attached and use them for other purposes, like I am here for LED bed lights and soon some Aux back up lights. The two wire one is 12V hot and ground and the six wire one has the rest of the functions of a 7 way trailer plug. I tapped into the parking lights for my LEDs, so they can be switched on anytime the parking lamps are lit. (parking lights on and when I hit the lock/unlock on my key fob)
I appreciate that info. I was hooking up aux back up lights when I saw the plugs. All the while wondering the best way to hook up the bed lights.
That's why this forum rocks.
Thanks again.
If you get the two pin plug part number, will you post it up or PM me the link. Haven't had time to go mess with the parts guy to find it. It took him two days to find this one!

I would think that an upfitter switch would be more convenient for bed loading/unloading without having to have all your running lights on. JMO.
