Count our blessing's

Just got back from the hospital. My wife Dawn was in a terrible accident tonight. She dropped our 8 yr old Kalan off at hockey and decided to go to Walmart to shop. Turning off the main road she lost control and got T-Boned, pinning her against the hitting truck and a tree. She is banged up, but OK. Our Explorer is a wright off. The other vehicles occupants denied treatment, the police were not involved. It acually happened in the connecting street to the 7 Oaks Hospital. The other driver & passenger walked away and got the hell outta there. (sometin fishy). Anyways my wife is fine, a little bruised up. We're having a bit of a storm, and while tryin to pull in the drive way, I was met by a 4ft drift. Needless to say, I will be late for work in the morning. I had a feeling today, with our weather that she should have stayed home. If the weather's bad, and the street's / highway's are bad, Listen to the weather people; Stay home. Nobody's life is worth the risk. God Bless.

I'm glad no one was injured. You're right; when the police say travel not recommended it's usually for a reason. Stay at home and stay safe!

Glad to hear you wife is ok. It makes your heart skip a beat getting that call. My daughter was in a wreck a couple of weeks ago and 4 hours away at college. Fortunately for her the impact was at the front quarter panel. If it was a foot back she would have been hurt pretty bad.

Tell her we are thinking about her and praying her fully healed. I'm sure she will be pretty sore for a while.

Here in Dallas, we tend to get ice. Even with chains and 4-wheel low, a truck can make a pretty good sled. Add to that the folks who've ever driven in inclement conditions and it is no place to be driving. Property is relatively expendable. People, not so much.

Sorry to head about the accident but glad to hear your wife wasn't seriously injured. Hope she mends quickly. She'll be sore for a few days if nothing else.

Thank the Lord she is OK and that your child was not in the truck! I understand the panic when you get that call. Glad to hear everyone is OK. Maybe she should upgrade to an expedition now lol

Glad your wife is o.k. Keep an eye on her, to make sure she is not hurt, and just does not know it.
I have experience in this. Long story, but can happen.

Happy Thursday mornin all. Thank's for all the support folk's. Dawn is very sore on her left side, but in good spirits. Now we have to go thru all the BS with insurance, and getting another vehicle. Our insurance company (gov't) said the police do not get involved in fender benders anymore. They will only attend if someone is severely injured. As for the other party leaving, as of 11am they had not made a claim. We will be going to get a rent a car after lunch, and retrieve her belonging's from the impound yard. It's going to be hard to replace her Explorer. It was a full load Eddy Bauer, 2006 162,000km and in exceptional condition. Have a great day fol's, and thanks again for the support.

Sorry to hear about that but glad she is okay. There is a reason I drive a big truck. Most people think suv and truck owners don't need big vehicles. Glad to hear the old Ford kept her safe!

that the police weren't involved does sound strange. As far as them being involved only in the case of serious injury also sounds a little unusual. Someone has to determine who was at fault, which will determine whose insurance has to pay for the vehicle damage and medical bills.

Other states may be different, but here in Arkansas the police are always involved, unless the accident is due to inclement weather and there are just too many accidents for them to handle.

I wish your wife a full, speedy recovery, and hope that you don't run into an insurance nightmare in the next couple of months trying to get things taken care of. Medical bills can ruin you financially, even if you have good insurance.
