I have two remotes. Bought new batteries for both.
Only 1 will program at a time, what am I doing wrong?
I do the procedure, and can program either remote and it works. How do I program the second? According to the manual, I hold one lock button until locks signal that it worked. Then it says repeat the previous step, which is hold down the lock button for number 2. This does nothing, and only 1 works.
So, if I repeat the procedure, I can program either one. But programing a second does not work. I have also tried holding down the lock button on both remotes at the same time after the procedure, but again, only one gets programmed.
Here's a thought. open the case on the one not working, like you would to change the battery. If it's like mine, there should be a small metal "can" in the the middle, If it has a dimple in the middle, you'll have to get a new remote. I changed the case on mine and didn't get the board to seat right. Pushing a button caused the dimple. Drove me nuts! Got two new ones from EBay and both programmed with no problem.
Also, if you use the remote to unlock the doors most of the time, spray some lubricant in ALL the keyways and exercise the locks. My were so gunked up because the previous owner probably didn't use the key that 90% of the time the key wouldn't work (like it was the wrong key).
