Hey guys, I spend most of my time here over in the 73-79 Truck thread but need some help on this. I ran across a 2012 expy for sale that the owner claims the title states its a Expedition "King Ranch". It is badged as an XLT, loaded out with factory king ranch wheels. Why would the title state a KR if it is badged as an XLT? Oh and yeah its a 1 owner that supposedly was special ordered from Ford, with 20k miles. thanks!!
The vin# came back as stating its a 2012 Expedition King Ranch/XLT---how can it be both? It really doesn't matter, but I just never seen/heard of this before!!
I had a buddy run it thru the carfax report and he said that on the top line after the vin# it had a "2012 Ford Expedition King Ranch/XLT" for the description.
I am getting a copy of the title in the morning and will take it to my local Ford dealership and see what they say!!

PM me it and I'll run it. I doubt it comes back as both.
If it doesn't have the King Ranch leather seats I am not sure how it can be a King Ranch.
Do you have a link to the ad?
Mine shows up the same when the VIN is run, a few people have run into this problem. The biggest complainers of this are people who live in states that tax the value of the vehicle. Everyone else doesn't seem to care.
Ok, the title states a Expedition XLT as does the window sticker. But the carfax states its a King Ranch/XLT. When I ask the Ford dealer about this they said "they have seen this before and they think its a issue with the carfax software, but wasn't totally sure why"...? Again, whatever--I bought it yesterday!! Thanks for all the input guys!!
This is my 4th expy, the three previous one's I purchased new and still have my 08 with 220k miles. It has only had the serpentine belt, alternator, & battery replaced and on its 5th set of tires...its been a dream vehicle, and still going strong!!
I noticed the same thing with my 2013 Expy EL XLT....however, mine is the platinum white color with the king ranch adobe metallic lower portion color. Even running the VIN only shows the single color along with the "XLT/KR". In looking online, when "building" an XLT, there is no option for the 2 tone paint like the older Eddie Bauers. Only the KR's show the 2 tone paint. I bought it last month CPO with just over 15K miles. Love this truck. Beats the 2005 F250 6."oh" its broke again.
Yeah my (3) previous epxy's where eddie bauer's, white with the tan on the lower. This one is the same, white & tan...These are/where my DD so I rack up alot of miles on them, and ALWAYS use Mobil 1 synthetic oil...I am sold on the expy as you can see.

The XLT is available with two tone paint. Check your order guides. Infact the nicer XLTs I believe are almost EB like since they no long use those naming rights.
