I use an air chisel to fold the sleeve on the old one over and hammer it out, then a couple pieces of pipe, washers, nuts and all-thread to "pull" the new one in.

Don't have a more detailed how-to on these trucks, mostly done them on newer F-150s. Haven't gotten to the rear of my truck yet.

what type of bushing are you installing ? if your installing an oem rubber bushing put it in the freezer for a few days, this will shrink it just a bit then right before your ready to install heat the eye up of the spring ( not read hot but warm ) this will enlarge it making installation a bit easier.

poly should just slide in fairly easy. i just did mine a few months ago. make sure to get the lubricant for them ( real sticky stuff ) but you'll need it or they will squeak. i used a large C- clamp to make installation easier.

poly bushings like energy suspension or similar do not use an outer sleeve like the factory rubber bushings do, and come in 2 pieces. when you get the old bushing out clean rust/dirt out with a wire brush (on a die grinder works good). the lube the spring eye and and the bushing with dielectric grease and slide the 2 halves into the spring. then lube the inner sleeve and the inside of the bushings and slide the sleeve in. it might be a tight fit but no special tools are required. if you have trouble you can just lay your spring flat on the floor or bench and drive sleeve in with a hammer. just don't deform the sleeve. (TIP: make sure your pivot bolts fit through the sleeves, especially if you are using new bolts and new sleeves. may have to wire wheel coating off of the bolts or sand hone the sleeves to get them to fit. use anti-seize on bolts and sleeves when assembling.)

Removing old bushings is easy. Do yourself a favour and buy one of these little torch bottles. Get the yellow bottle! It's hotter.
What's the Difference: Torches - Fine Homebuilding Article

Just heat bushing until its basically dripping and on fire and knock it out.
Oxy/acetylene torches are great obviously as well but these are cheap and easy. Good for heating stubborn bolts too

They may be referring to Front of rear eye. Rear of front spring eye and front of front spring eye.

I ended up buying Bushings from ATS Junior, an FTE member. He received the payment on 1-27-2013, and i received the bushings yesterday, 1-29-2013! 2 Day Priority shipping was never discussed so i was amazed to get them that fast. Thanks Junior

I installed the right side last night, the shackle bushing was a bit too tight and my original was not deteriorated so i just did the leaf eyelets. Besides that, the shackle bolt is install from inframe out, so my exhaust made it impossible to remove. New bushings made an Amazing difference, lol. The eyelet in the front had zero bushing, the rear had a piece that was about 1/2"x1" in it. Replacing them brought my ride height up 2" in the front, so i am 1/2" lower in front compared to back.
