Check out the "Tech Info" thread atop this forums index page, for instructions on how to pull trouble codes from your OBD-1 system & post All code Numbers, as they can offer up good trouble shooting clues.

Aw rats, another dead end AOL link in the Tech Info thread, well here is a good link that'll show you what your connectors look like & how to use a jumper wire, test light, or analog multimeter to extract the trouble codes without having to buy a OBD-1 code reader. Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test Edit: Here is another link with hookup pictorials. http://www.thorssell.net/hbook/eectest.html

Your 87 is not equipped with a CEL, so you'll need to use a VOM or test light to get the codes. Or an Equus 3145 scanner for 25 bucks will retrieve/store/display the codes. No flashing lights to count.

The connector is under the hood hanging at the end of its wires near the heater blower. You'll need to fish around to find it.
