Just so you know, you probably have one of the rarest of the Excursions. I say that becuase they didn't start producing those trucks until the last part of the 2002 model year, so as a Limited Ultimate, I'm almost willing to bet that you have two-toned leather seats.....?

Yes I do have the two tone leather interior...good catch, you know your Excursions. I plan on posting more pics of the "cleaning transformation".
I was unable to have my mechanic check it out before I bought it, he checked it out after and gave it the thumbs up except the auto hubs, which I knew were bad before purchasing the X. Thx to all the info I read on this site I was able to check it out on my own and go over it with a fine tooth comb.
You dump the techron additive in the tank along before you fill the tank. Then you make sure the engine is nice and hot, then induce the recommended amount of seafoam into the intake at the brake booster. (I've dumped a little over half the bottle in before) then shut the truck off. After I believe 5-10 minutes, make sure you're in a nice secluded area and start the truck. You'll have to rev it or take it for a nice hard drive, but it will smoke bad. (this is normal) Once the smoke clears, you're good to go.
With the techron additive in the tank, you'll notice how nice, smooth, and even quiet the V10 is. That's the additive working it's magic and cleaning the fuel system.
Here are a few other maintenance items to consider:
You may also want to consider new plugs if the PO never changed them. V10s only like Motorcraft plugs, they don't like the new split fire, 4 tip, or whatever they can think of plugs. Just motorcraft...
You can get them at Autozone and most other parts stores.

How can you tell. Is it the matching color cladding?
Hey Tor,
Could you expand a bit on your comments about the Limited Ultimate? What else differentiates one of those?? A couple people in this forum have their rigs listed as a Limited Ultimate, but I never really knew what that meant.
Nice one! In the first pic I thought it had the tan door skirts.
Most people thought the same thing. She is all black....EXCEPT the front bumper, it has been replaced with a chrome one, also the fog lights (aux. driving lights) and brackets are missing. All other parts are original. The black bumper and lights are on the list of things to do.
