I had a great time working with Ray, and enjoyed the usual Doc hospitality! Also had a great time at Ray's on the way, got to see his place and Blue in progress.

The bottom line on the old engine was the crankcase ventilation system was totally plugged up (both the draft tube and the fill breather), so pressure relieved itself thru the crank seals. The flywheel was literally cutting a path thru 1/2"-thick goo. The distributor gear was worn near in half from abrasive hardened sludge. I think we went thru 2 gallons of Spray Power cleaner (a highly recommended product BTW).

What an awesome story! Tremendous act of friendship shown by Ross and Ray (especially ross driving that far!). But Doc, as evidenced by your 2 Truckstocks and your hospitality, you def. deserved it!

I have not met any of these 3 guys involved but it is like I know you all, through FTE of course.

That is a great store right around Thanksgiving! I think you have made some great friend, and that also shows how much they respect you too, for them wanting to do this for you.

This was Ross's idea to go swap out the engine and of course, I was a willing participant. We did enjoy working together. Not to hijack the thread, but Ross also deserves credit and thanks for helping me install the glass in Blue while he was at my place.

 

I heard that Ross And Ray where on their way to Doc's , and thought that a private truckstock was happening . Now I know the rest of the story . Nice going guy's . This is starting to look like the show overhauling . First the group at Truckfest gets Rojak's truck running and now Doc's truck . I wish I had been there to help .
