OVERHEATING88

Has anyone had any issues with a 2.9liter V6 with a blown gasket?Any input would be cool.

Not to scare you but, yes, 2.9L heads are known to crack if overheated. That said, I overheated a 2.9 years ago a number of times before realizing it needed a thermostat, with no ill effects.

If you're just experiencing overheating issues then a coolant change, thermostat change, and radiator flush might solve the problem. All fairly straightforward to do.

Cracked2.9liter Head

I have not pulled the head yet.I am not sure weather to take the gamble or if I should just part out the vehicle. The bronco is in good shape. All of the glass is in tact, drivetrane is good, the interior is in pretty good shape, could use some cleaning though.Either wich way ,thanks for the input.I've never purchased a head for this vehicle before.Does anyone have a general idea how much they cost?

That's beyond my experience level. Are you getting oil or bubbles in the radiator that are indicating to you the head/gasket might be bad? Overheating alone would not be an indicator.

One more post and I might just list it for sale, for parts or as a fixer upper.Vehicle still has potential but would probably serve someone better who already owns one and needs or could use a parts truck or a possible backup vehicle.
