Not sure how much I should list this for???

Please Help. I am thinking about listing this for $9900 but am not sure of the value. I have an appraisal for approx. $11,000. What do you think I can ask for this truck? Below is the ad and a link to the video with a walk/around. I realize the value is primarily in the big block and the House of Kolor paint job:

1979 Ford F-100. This is a goodsolid truck. It has a built big block 460 with Edelbrock aluminum intake and 4barrel carb plus a MSD electronic ignition with headers and a nice dualexhaust. In addition to having a flex fan for cooling this truck also has anauxiliary electronic cooling fan just in case. The truck is an automatic andhas a custom floor shift. This truck runs good and sounds great. It's beenbuilt to cruise and it's never been raced. It has always been adult driven andwell maintained. The odometer reads79,794 but the prior owner said the engine and transmission has less than 5,000miles on them. It is a rear wheel drive(not a 4x4).

The truck gets a lot of attention, mostly due to the custom paint. It's abeautiful "House of Kolor" shade of orange called Sunset OrangeMetallic. The paint was done several years ago but still looks great. It hassome very fine lavender pearl metallic chips that really make the color pop inthe sunlight. It is a nicely done, modern, base coat clear coat paint job thatwill look great for many more years. The exterior chrome is in good condition. It has custom side mirrors, bed rails, spray in bed liner, and a largelow-profile diamond plate tool box. The custom wheels are in great condition,as are the tires, and they accent the truck nicely.

The interior of the truck is as nice as the rest of it. The original seats havebeen replaced with a more comfortable, modern seat. It is a soft and supple tanleather seat with a fold down console. The truck has a modern JVC CD/MP3 playerand upgraded speakers in the doors. The dash looks great and has a set ofmore-accurate-than-stock, aftermarket gauges for temperature, oil pressure, andvoltage. The heater works great. This truck did not originally have AC, butthere are affordable kits available if that is something you feel you wouldneed to do.

This truck really doesn't need anything. It has sufficient power to pull atrailer or a boat with ease. I would feel confident driving this truckanywhere. It is very reliable as well as being very fun to cruise around in. Wedon't have to sell it but we would like to thin out our pack of cars and make alittle room in the driveway since we recently bought a new truck, we decided wecould let this one go. We are asking $9900 for the truck. fficeffice" /><o></o>

If you would like more picturesor a copy of the appraisal, please text or email. VIN: F10BNFB3246.

Well after 85 views and no one has a opinion....

Well......I do, way to much money for a 2wd, if you do not have receipts for all the previous owner engine and trans work, then is has not been done.

I want to know who appraised it for 11,000? Tx tags and you are in MS, not that that matters, I'm just curious how that works. You must of just bought it and are trying to flip it and get your money back, or make a killing?

For $9900 I want to see some engine compartment, interior and underside body and frame shots and get it professionally done, not some shaky 30 sec handy cam. But I still would not pay that for it, if you did or got any where close to that, I'm sorry.

And post it in the FTE classifieds. FYI "butthere" is not a good word to use in an vehicle add. And those are not custom mirrors, they are common for that truck, type 9's with a Ford sticker on them, that's NOT custom.

Maybe not what you want to hear cause its a little to honest, sorry if your feelings are hurt.

Sorry, but I'd say your a little high on your price. 2 wheel drive f-100's just aren't worth that much to begin with. Just because you spent X amount on the truck doesn't make it worth that much.

I'd also like to see actual pictures. Under the hood. Well lighted under the truck pics as well. I have seen way too many trucks that are lipstick on a pig. A nice paint job covering a nasty engine and under carriage ruins it for me.

You have to consider you can buy solid well running no rust f-100's for $1000.00 to 1500.00.

I'd honestly pay $6000 if it was up here...hell up here we get near mint crew cabs that sell for $4000. $9900 is quite a bit steep for a 2wd...sorry

And I agree with all of these guys. A 2wd truck just doesn't bring the money. 5K is tops for that truck and that might even be high.

I appreciate all the feedback. I was only able to post 3 pictures or I would have posted all the underbody pics, etc or even the appraisal document/pictures. I posted the truck at 9 this morning and it sold an hour ago for $9900.

Glad ya sold it. Most of the cars ive sold started at $800...by the time it leaves my driveway its talked down to $500

And yeah we had an awesome f250 blue and silver crew down in Barrington, Illinois that sold for $4000. I swear that thing sold in one hour of it being posted.

I can easily see that selling for $9900. Would be great graduation present or weekend truck.

Tbh, i would totally rather pay $10k for a truck and be able to see it "done" in front of me, rather than spend $8k to do it myself.

Unfortunately, i am not longer in that position to do either, lol.

I really like the short beds, and the minimal chrome is nice. Nice stance. My opinion.

I don't know if it's still on Ebay, but there was a yellow and white F-100 listed at $20k that was about sixty miles from me.Out of curiosity I went by and looked at it one day not long ago when I was in town. I might have offered $3k for it on a good day after seeing it in person. It looked a LOT better in the Ebay pics than it did in person. I learned a big lesson that day.

I'm glad the seller got what he wanted here, but I would have to agree with everybody else. Even though it's nice, it's not $10k nice. At least not to me.

As always, in the end anything is worth what some one is willing to give for it.

Free Market at work.......shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone they will try and fix it.

Congrats on the sale, looks like I should bring a few that I have to TX or MS. If you don't mind me asking, did you Ebay or local to you Craigslist it?

A 2WD sells for 10 grand the same day it's listed? In what part of the country does that actually happen? Has the buyer already shown up with cash in hand and driven away, or is he still "coming to get it"?

That is a gorgeous truck and I can see someone dropping $10.000 on it since people drop that and multitudes more on nice hotrods all the time.
We deal with these things on a daily basis and know the value of a good old truck.
The average guy off the street who just wants a turnkey, classic something-or-other sees this as a pretty good deal and judging by parameters he goes by (independent appraisal and the resto-mod perspective) he would be correct.
