Need help, I've got a gremlin.

1997 expedition.

Problems:

speedo and tach don't work (I have 2 clusters, same problem on both)
wipers don't work.

Replaced:
GEM with known good module.
wiper stalk (multifunction switch) (as of 12/8)

I'm working on the wipers first

Tested the power at the wiper motor. No power.

1.5 ohms of resistance on the ground.

I have checked all fuses (both under the hood and under the dash).
I have moved all of the relays as well, to no avail.

Any other thoughts, or ideas?

Thanks guys

I believe you can test the stalk, just as you have done your other tests.
Do you have a wiring diagram , so you know which color wires are which?

Do not. Wiring isn't my strongest suit. But I'd like to think I'm competent. Where can I find one?

weird...

I hooked up the switch for the lights, since I have to drive it tomorrow, and all my gauges except the speedo work again.

Cool! I've got a half tank of gas!

Now, to test that switch tomorrow.

For the front wiper, double check fuse #11 in the interior fuse box under the dash. I've also attached a PDF of the wiper wiring diagram.

From what I'm looking at, assuming that #11 is good, it has to be the switch, right?

No, it could be a relay, a bad connector, or a broken wire, just as easily.

No dice. Triple checked all the fuses. gah. Frustration.

Is there a wiper relay, I am guessing you have delay wipers.
the relays are all the same , will interchange in the fuse panel.
swap a know good one for the wipers.

In his first post he said he swapped the relays around and I'm guess it didn't help.

Correct.

Fuses are good, relays are good, wiperstalk is new, and GEM is a used known good replacement.

No power at the wiper motor.

The older fords had trouble with the ignition switch, not the tumbler.
as the switch started separating , some circuits would not work.
worth a check .

If it were the ignition switch, then other things like the radio, door remotes, and the rear wiper system would also not work. They all share the same accessory circuit running through the switch as the front wiper system.

I thought that would be the case. Thanks for confirming my thought alloro.
