I bought a '08 F450 that already had the DPF deleted (had no idea to even look for that when I bought it, dummy me) cold air intake, and an SCT Livewire programmer. After having the truck for a few weeks, the truck was broken into and the programmer was stolen.
This leaves me with an issue... Do I go get some DPFs and get the truck re-flashed to stock or spend over a grand and get another programmer with a DPF delete program? Are there other options I am not considering?
Being that the programmer was stolen so soon after I bought the truck, I am not even sure what setting it was running.
I am not rich, so any decision has a severe financial impact.
Which would be the better route to go. I do not do much towing, certainly nothing very heavy. Truck was purchased while I was setting up a business that would require a truck that heavy, but it fell through, and here I sit with the truck.
With a tuner you absolutely should have something to at least monitor the vitals of the motor.
I'd suggest getting a replacement. But another problem I see is that you don't have the programing from ford for your truck any longer. Might check with SCT about that as well and see if they can supply something should you need it.
