I never noticed it before, seeing as my truck had a home made flat bed when I got it, but at some point in the past someone has cut the last 12 to 15 inches off the rear of the frame rails. I only found it when I was starting to measure up to install the express bed.
So, what I'm looking for is a total frame rail length and some pictures and details of the rear most crossmember and where the bumper irons bolt on. Can anyone help?
I can't find a junk frame to cut up so I'll need to fabricate everything, I want to run a tow hitch also so I'll need to build it strong.
That's brilliant Allan and Stu, exactly what I was after, thanks. Not as much missing from mine as I thought, only about 7 inches by the look of it. I had assumed there was another crossmember at the back but not so. I might have to pull that crossmember out so I can fish plate the rails from inside and then trim it to fit and bolt it back in.
