351W smog pump bypass
Okay, my girlfriends step dad has an 88 F150 with the 351 and a seized up smog pump. His county doesn't have emissions testing (yet) so we tried to take the pump off in order to take the 'guts out of it' so it would just spin with the belt. Well, after removing the two big bolts and fighting for a while, it wouldn't come out so he decided we should just leave the pulley off, and run it without the pump. My question is, does anyone have a part number for a shorter belt that is good for bypassing the smog pump. C'mon, I know someone must have done this before, please help us out.

Just get a string and measure it with that, then go to a parts store and ask for whatever length it is with how ever many ribs it has. That's what I had to do for my custom belt setup.

But if it is serpentine setup don't forget that the tensioner pull has to have something to pull, or you belts won't be tight. I would subtract 2 or 3 inches from the string method.
