My 2008 F150 Super Crew Door locks use to work like this, When you pushed the unlock button on the key fob once it unlocked the driver door only then if you pressed it again it unlocked the other 3 doors. A few months ago it started unlocking all 4 doors with one press. The owners manual does not show this as a option and when I had it at the dealer for brakes they tried to get it back the way it was but could not figure it out either. Anyone had this problem before and solved it?
I posted tis question originally on Thanks Giving Morning it got a 130 views but no replies, so I was hopping it might have a better shot at an answer on a Saturday and not a Holliday.
Although the owner's manual doesn't seem to mention it, this procedure in the workshop manual can be used to enable/disable the stepped unlocking feature:
<center></center>
With the ignition switch in the OFF position, press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter simultaneously for 4 seconds.
The parking lamps will flash twice to indicate the mode change.
Repeat Step 1 to enable/disable the stepped unlocking feature.
You are my new HERO that took me 6 to 8 months of asking and two seconds to fix, I wrote the directions in the owners manual so in 2 years when it happens again I will already have the fix. Thanks again I guess that is why 1000 heads are better then a few.
