Auto Enginuity

I have recently purchased one. It seems to be a great tool and I have a lot to learn the actual capacity.

My ? is, can the AE be used to tune or adjust perameters??

The only thing you can adjust with AE is the speedometer on some trucks. Not sure about the 05 and up trucks. I can on my 04.

There are tuners and scanners and monitors, while they share some functionality the are each designed to do a different job.

Monitors just read data but can not alter it.
Scanners have the added functioality of being able to run certain self tests but don,t change any actual programming.
Tuners are designed to change actual programming.

Yes. Once you buy AE you can buy add on bundles for most vehicles. The Ford bundle for example will have the Ford specific stuff. Check their website for info and prices.

What all can this thing do. Is it the same as the ford ids. Can it do the contribution balance test. If so how much does this system run. I have a sticking injector or two and would like to find out which one it is so I can replace. I think ford wants 100+$ to run the test and tell you which ones are messing up.

Yes. I think IDS will do a relative compression where AE will not. AE will also not update the PCM in the truck. It is well worth the money.
