Hi there, welcome to FTE!
You should get the part # from Ford to be certain what it is you are looking for. Then you can contact a few auto parts stores and have them try to cross reference it. Or maybe even do a search online.
Also, have you tried a junkyard?

Thanks for your help. I have not yet tried a junk yard. That will be stop #2 after checking out Radio Shack.
Ford used to carry the replacement bulb which cost approx $5, now they will only sell you the entire switch that costs $50. Sounds pretty rediculous to me.

See if you can find anything through internet suppliers of lamps or light bulbs. I know that GE has a tremendously wide range of specialty lamps. I found this out while looking for a bulb for the compass in my '59 Cessna 172. (It was an oddball lamp, but- they had it!)
