what in the world is knocking under my truck

Just driving Feels like it wants to shake out from under me. Daily driver. I Love it and do most of the work on it. Dropped it for a suspension inspection and they came back with my brake assemblies were trashed. They wanted 6-7 bills to fix I had them repack outer bearings and put it back together. Gonna redo the entire brake system from inner bearing out. Did the rear brakes a month ago with new spring set and shoes.

Question : Could the brakes be so Bad, they actually shake the floorboard as you drive? No problem stopping and it just passed inspection.

F150 or F250? 4x2 or 4x4?

Did you check the leaf spring hangers and shackles? They like to rust through, break off, and then the spring ends bang under the truck bed.

Check the radius arm bushings and brackets. The hole in the bracket where the radius ram goes in likes to rust out and get rounded as the bushings go bad.

Check the pivot arm bushings as well.

My fault 1994 F250 2wd 4.9L

Definatly in the front, I have not jacked it up, the shop said surprisingly the upper and lower ball joints are good. They threw the whole shake and shimmy on the brakes.

Just feels really loose going over the roads. Feels wore out and I am lacking front end dialog. I am looking for a diagram to put some names to the parts.

Just a heads up I got a great deal on the brakes. New inner bearings out to the disc pads except the calipers. Gonna see is I have a powdered bearing causing it. Front Brakes. Also putting new shocks on the rear for the fun of it.

Well I did the whole front break thing from inner bearing out. New tie rods. New shocks all the way around. Gonna jack it tomorrow and shake the hell out of it.

I am going to paint rims black so may do a rotation to see if the tires are the cause.

F250 4X2 in the front under the driver. I would replace every bushing on it. I am having a hard time explaining to anyone as I do not know the correct names for anything after the tie rods. Checking my Haynes manual. Plan to jack it up in the AM and pull the tires. With all of the noise something has to move.

FOUND IT. Turns out..............The Caliper on the driver side was bouncing like crazy. The push pin that holds the caliper in place on the top is shot. It bounces like crazy.

Putting in new ones on the top and bottom, and the retainer spring that locks the back of the caliper in the AM.
