Did the test today, the driver side balloon inflated, passenger side did not.
"Big Inch" and several other suggested to change all 4 on the offending bank. I am leaning toward that also.
Let take a vote on only changing the bad injector vs all 4.
What about doing all 8?
Or should I wait until the pass. side goes out then change? Doesn't it usually one injector goes out, the remaining injector isn't to far behind?
Spending the money now and doing all at once or go back again to do the other side. I really do not want to get stranded 1,000 miles away from home since every time I drive this thing it usually more than 2,000 miles. the rest of the time it's park on the driveway
i just left a post on your other thread. i would just change out the faulty injector and if your worried about breakdowns i would install a scan gauge (or something like it) if you haven't already. usually it can be your crystal ball into seeing problems creep up before they actually leave you sitting on the side of the hwy. as far as mechanical breakdowns...well there is not much you can do about that. you could install all 8 new injectors and have problems in the first 500 miles...unlikely, but it could happen. you could install a brand new FICM and it might go on you a year later...there's just no telling. if your truck has been reliable up to this point and you have done your part to maintain it then i see no reason why it wouldn't continue to do so after this repair. m2c

ford150guy,
I read your response on the other thread also. Got SG II installed right after I bought the truck two yrs ago. Only check the Voltage of the FICM, water/oil temp, sometime VGT/boost. Don't understand the rest of the stuff, only have it so I can ask here when something goes wrong.
Bought this thinking that I only drive about 5,000 miles a year. So far, I accumulated 30K miles for the two yrs of ownership.
Already spent money on the oil/egr cooler along with all the upgrade parts, standpipe/dummy plugs...etc. This thing has 155K miles on it now, don't know how much longer will I have to change the water pump, radiator...
Working on this 6.0 L every few months is not what I have in mind.
I just don't trust myself on cleaning the injectors, maybe I don't have all the tools and equipment. Also, don't even know if I changed all 4 will the truck start up. Change just the defective one will save a lot of money though.
How do you check the fuel pressure with the current condition of the engine? Maybe it's a good time to install the pressure gauge since SGII doesn't have it. I already had the blue spring and banjo bolts on a while back.
i installed a glowshift 3 in 1 gauge while i had my ficm out getting serviced. to read fuel pressure you need an adapter to go from the test port to the sender. the test port is the plug that is to the left of where you did the blue spring mod...just take that plug out and put sender in and your done.

Where did you place the gauge inside the truck at? only one gauge?
yup, 3 readings in just one gauge. i bought the boost=analog with the fuel pressure and egt's as the digital. everything is on their website including the fuel sensor adapter (i would hot link it for you but not sure if that allowed) and i installed the gauge in my dash where the 4X4 selector switch would be in trucks with that option (mines just an XL so i have the never fail lever on the floor). you do have to look down to read the gauge...but its not like you stare at the thing continuously while driving and i wasn't a huge fan of using their pod that comes with it. i guess a pillar mount would be ok also but i like it where i have it installed (i can post a pic up later today/tomorrow if you would like).
I found the website yesterday, just don't know where is the best place to install the gauge. I think you have it below the dash with two installed already and still contemplate on which third one to buy correct? I also don't know what/where is the best way to route the wires from the secondary fuel bow to inside the cab... I really do not want to bubba this. It already has too many duct tape as it is

I used a different gauge setup. Yes, that's me with the pod under the dash but I don't think the Glowshift 3 in 1 gauge would fit in the pod I have without some hole modifications. The Isspros are a 2 1/16" gauge and the Glowshift is 2 3/8"
Glowshift has a pillar pod. I'm sure other people have different mountung ideas.
EDIT....I'll try to get some pics of how I ran my wires from the engine bay through the firewall into the cab in a day or two. There are some on here, but I can't seem to find them.
