Water fuel separator

When you drain your w/f separator is it required to prime your fuel rail like you would after changing the filters or just drain and go?

When i due mine i cycle the key just like the filters i know some people don't but for the time it takes its not worth the hassel if the system would loose prime.

I never cycled the key myself and never lost a prime.
