Tailgate Lock???
Just had a pair of altezzas lifted from my 2001 Ranger. Looking into tailgate lock options. Only one I can find is the Pop&Lock. Anyone have any experience with this...does it work? Other brands? TIA.

If you have power door locks, put in a Pop&lock powerlock in the tailgate. It costs more (I think mine was 60 or 65) but it's nice. Unlocks with the main doors and can't be locked/unlocked from outside. Only problem is, you could still probably take out the screws in the back of the tailgate, remove the cover and unlock it manually. Thinking more about it, this might not work for you, if they had the time to take out the screws in the lights, they could do the tailgate too I suppose. I didn't like the cheaper manual pop&locks, they just looked cheap and didn't seem secure. I wanted to be able to unlock/lock mine quickly when getting into the back (I have a canopy) and it makes it a little more difficult to break into the back.
Maybe someone else will have better ideas and I'll quit babbling..

Brian, thx for response. Didn't know there was a powerlock option for tailgate. None of the vendors around here mentioned it. I used the manual pop&lock and added some steel reinforcement, as you say, it was a bit on the flimsy side. You can defeat it by removing the tailgate access plate cover, however, this is considerably more difficult with a bed extender as it blocks access to the upper plate screws. I'm going to do some customizing to the access plate screws to increase this difficulty. As most say, you can't prevent someone from burglarizing your truck, but you can make it more difficult.
