Min. Volts To Start?

Does anyone know if there is a min. voltage to start the PSD? My alternator resently burnt out but I had to get some where that day and didn't have time to change it out. So, four hours later I got to my destination and the truck sat over night. I tried to start it the next morning and it turned over but wound'nt start. I changed out the alternator and a new set of batteries and it started up. The part that is strange is that it was turning over but didn"t start. The voltmeter was at about 9v. Anyone have input?

I'm surprised it even turned over at 9v. Not at all suprised it didn't start.

Mine will not start any lower than 10.5 volts.
