The fan is going to turn more at higher speeds due to the ram air effect thru the radiator.

All I know about the O'Reilly pumps is the cheaper unit has a metal impeller which is a plus.

Yours acts exact same as my 2003 Its normal for an 03 its just the Programming

His fan wont ramp up till 218*f ECT then FSS will hit 1500rpm+

Its the Exact reason I want to Change the Fan rpm vs Temps on mine with a Custom tunner Get that Fan to Kick in a little sooner

Only thing I can figure was they was trying to save MPG
By Trying to control the temp throughout the Range of the Thermostat But once that thermostat is Maxed out around 218*f then Give it the Fan

There seems to be many here that are having trouble getting the ect's up with new t-stats. Many of them also are not making 60,000 miles.

Another plus is if it does go out it's lifetime and they are local. No waiting for one to be shipped.

True. I think the t-stat in my 05 made it to about 140,000 or so before it got weak. I still ran another 30,000+ on it though.

Went to jekkll island, ga for our anniversary, used cold weather front and observed ect had no problems staying 190-195, my ect was 205, i was running a/c on way north (85* air temp).

On way home air temp 55, no a/c.. ect 190-192 the entire time, eot 197-205. I have bpd oil cooler so the delta isn't of concern, but it does tend to cool the oil real well, unless the a/c is on..

I wonder if the t-stats just can't close enough to keep our engines warm when not working hard..

At idle my engine never gets to operating temps, even in summer. Without a thermostat at 100* ambient the highest it would get was 156 in the driveway (flushing).

Do you have the cold weather package on your BPD?

No, I think it came out after I already had mine, and honestly, I wouldn't have thought to get in being in FL. We do plan to move to Colorado in a couple/few years hence having the cold weather front will be handy..
