aftermarket stereo questions and photo request
I have a 2011 Screw Fx4 with the standard radio and small two line nav/sync system.
While I love my truck I find the stereo to be....lacking.
I have spoken with crutchfield and gotten the list of supplies needed to add an aftermarket head unit while retaining the stock features I want to keep (200-300$)
My question is how many of you have replaced your stock radio, what did you lose that you wanted to keep?
Photos?
I will be installing a pioneer AVH-P6300BT Single din flip out screen system.
This is my stock setup
I also wanted to know if anyone has found a dash bezel that matches the pattern that I have, kind of checkered almost Kevlar pattern
Thanks for the help.
David.

Not me.
I chose to preserve the factory HU and look in the '11 I had.
I installed Infinity speakers in the doors, a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 processor, a RF 4 ch amp, a RF 2 ch sub amp and 2 10" subs.
You won't get away from the "lacking" performance unless you get rid of the stock speakers. They are paper coned cheap junk with tiny magnets.
We had people in the back seat twice in 2 years. The pass. side was used for a dog crate.

I will be adding a pair of 10's on a 650 watt amp and replacing all the door speakers also. I'm not sure what brand for the doors yet.
I have the pioneer head unit I bought last year and the 10's I was using in my old car that are going to transfer over to this truck.
Too bad my car used 5 1/4 round speakers and not 6x8's.
I've looked online and just can't find my truck with a single din flip out head unit, or a single din period.

Looks like that's a better option for someone not looking to changehead units .

Plus I'm not a rich man and need to work with what I've already got whenever possible.
Single-DIN AM/FM radio, DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, VCD, MP3/WMA/AAC, JPEG, DivX receiver
MOSFET 50 Watts x 4 peak power with three 4V RCA preamp outputs for system expansion
Motorized 7-inch touchscreen display with widescreen 16: 9 aspect ratio and WQVGA (480x240) pixel resolution
Features built-in Bluetooth, Pandora integration, direct iPod control, playback from USB and SD/SDHC, auxiliary input
Ready for Satellite/HD Radio, GPS navigation system, rear-view camera
And being pioneer you can tweak the sound however you want. 8 band eq, cut the bass from door speakers and only run it through sub's, tweak frequencies until you have a massive headache.
Etc.

not sure if you were aware of these or not, but Metra makes a passable installation kit
Metra Online
they have a wood grain one as well.
some complain about the finish of the metra kit, but i saw one where they covered it in carbon fiber applique and it looked really nice.
