I'm still looking for at '95-'96 F150 Supercab 2wheel drives, can't seem to find just the right one...anyway....I am going this weekend to look at a '94 with the 5.0 engine, and wonder what auto OD is in it, the original owner says hes had the servo replaced in it, and acording to him "it shifts well now" seems someone said in a previous post that one of them (the AOD or E4OD) is weak in these trucks, this truck has only 69k miles on it, so I wonder what is up with that???
Thanks!! Rick
Look at the sticker on the drivers side door post. Look at the trans code.
T = AOD
E = E4OD
U = 4R70W/AOD-E
I am not too sure which is the strongest, but I have a 94 F150 with the 4R70W, and it had a shuddering problem. I retourqed the valve body and all has been well for the last 20,000 miles or so. Hope this helps.
The E4OD is quite a bit stronger and by 95 they had all of the earlier bugs worked out. The AOD-E is a pretty decent box, but the more you use it like a truck, the more you'll want the E4OD.
