Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the up pipes on a 6.4 without removing the cab? It looks like it might be possible but it is pretty tight..Mine are cracked
Can be done cab on trans in on a scale of 1-10 its a 10 and thats if you can get the bolts out, the issue is some of the bolts are very hard to get too and they are usually seized.
Trans removed is a little easier, cab up is the easiest. Most techs will say cab up end of story!
If you plan on keeping the truck awhile i would look into some good quality stainless up-pipes like these http://www.rivercitydiesel.com/index...mart&Itemid=54
the stock are not great IMO and have seen alot of them fail. They make them with and without EGR and they will work with the stock manifolds and turbos
Thanks, and yeah looks like seizing is gnna be the biggest problem, that and no space. But it CAN be done...Im a tech myself for MB so do you think its worth the attempt?

you could try it like i said its been done, but I would proably pull the trans if you have the facility in the end it will save you alot of frustration and foul language!!!! , PB on all the bolts the night before works wonders!
I posted on your other post in the super duty section. Don't want to copy and paste, so just go read it. It can be done, it's just not easy. I will tell you this, when you are attempting to remove the bolts, have a really good socket, I bought a brand new craftsman before I started, and make sure you are STRAIGHT on the bolt and that your ratchet does not **** to one side when you try to turn it. Those bolts will round off in a heartbeat! Good luck.
