EEC/PCM HUG2 (F4TF-APC) in a 95 Auto 5.0?
I've been having issues that seem sensory, but none of the usual suspects seem to help. Long story short, I removed the EEC to try and find a replacement. This vehicle has been in the shop several times before the previous owner laid it to rest and bought a new F150. The connector was stuck on and the outer plastic cover had to be broken off to get a screw driver between the connector and the EEC to remove the connector. I then noticed that a pin was slightly crooked and there was a good deal of contact lube on the pins. Some of it was still white, but the majority was greenish. I don't know if Ford uses this stuff from the factory, but I would guess that the garage he took it to lubed that sucker up. What I DO NOT know, is if the computer was changed or not. So,… I'm trying to figure out if:
1. The HUG2 F4TF-APC is the right computer for the truck to begin with. (If not, which is?)
2. What other numbers will work as a valid replacement?
Its a 1995 F150 XLT 4x4 with the 5.0L 302. VIN 1FTEX14N1SKA32797 with Automatic transmission (w/Overdrive). If there's anymore information you need, please let me know. This is my first Ford so I'm a little in the dark on this thing.
Truck will idle for a while and then choke out and die. The AIC will rescue it a couple of times, but it still eventually dies. When driven, the engine cuts out as soon as you press the gas. It will sometimes sputter and burp out the tailpipe and intake. Sometimes, not always.
I have changed the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, Air Charge Temp sensor, Coolant temp sensor, and Air Idle Control valve. I blocked of the EGR, and bypassed the swamp pump with a smaller belt and blocked off the back of the heads. The only vacuum leaks I found went to the fan vent and I blocked off any that came off the smog crap. Test shows low EGR flow and rich condition, but that's to be expected and I take it as a sign that the O2 is doing it's job.
This truck sat up for over two years before I got it cranked up again and the cap was left off of the front tank, so rust did get in there. I've cleaned the tank and I do know that the front pump is dead, but the rear is good to go. I have not been able to check pressure at the fuel rail yet. Hoping a buddy of mine can borrow a tester from the shop he works for soon. But I suspect it's ok. The condition acts more like flooding than anything else. The distributer cap has been cleaned and I'm getting good spark, the plugs are ok too. Any help would be great, but figuring out the EEC/PCM thing is my priority. I need to rule that out.

You may be right, as I have not yet been able to check pressure with a meter yet. I'm hoping to be able to do that soon. I'll post back results when I do that. I'm going to TEMP reinstall the computer for now because I want to do a voltage test of the TPS before I go through the trouble with the computer. But after FP test and TPS volt test, I'm not sure what else I could do.
