Best Battery

I've had my e99 since new and I've had the best luck with the Interstate batteries with 1000cca mega. I even drained them complete three times trying to get home and they still lasted six year plus. What ever you get, get the most cranking amps you can find. Don't go short on this period.

It depends on your definition of 'best'. For me, it's all about value and quality. I have just about 5 years on my 850cca Costco batteries which I paid $150 for the pair. They're still load testing strong and I'll buy these again when the time comes. (A great thing about Costco goods is the high rate of turnover. Date of manufacture on my batteries were the month before I bought them)

I run XS Power in my OBS, but that is a very expensive option. They are incredible batteries, by far the most powerful batteries I've ever run. I've had Motorcraft, Interstate, Optima, and Everstart. XS Power has dealt with the demands I throw at my electrical system better than anything else has.
If I didn't want to drop the coin on XS Power though, I would go with Die Hard Platinum or Motorcraft IMO.
My SD currently has Everstart batteries that are about 2 1/2 years old. They aren't too terribly strong and turn the truck over a little weaker than I like. I'll probably rob the XS Power batteries out of my OBS and put them in the SD before the Everstarts have a chance to leave me stranded.

Just because different batteries are made by Johnson Controls at the same factory, doesn't necessarily mean they are all of equal quality.
My personal opinion is, be more concerned with the condition of your alternator, and if you have one of those "lifetime" rebuilt alternators, upgrade to something better.
I used to go through a set of batteries every year. Each time my "lifetime" alternator failed, one battery would go shortly after. The first battery failure I ran into a NAPA corporate store vs. franchise where they wouldn't honor the battery warranty, so I switched to Autozoo where they look it up by phone number with no questions.
That worked for a few years until they said the batteries (gold tops) had no warranty because they had already been traded in. Made no difference they were only 10 months old and couldn't start the truck anymore.
It's been a year since I upgraded the alternator and switched batteries to a new brand. Knock on wood things are still working well. I guess I'll have to wait and see.
