Today coming back from visiting my sister me and my dad came across a 1966 Mercury Comet. Now theres nothin really special about the car it has a 289 4v with an aftermarket intake and carb and its an automatic with dual exhaust. It was painted 10 years ago and who ever did it did one heck of a job. Also we could not find a spec of rust anywhere and the paint had no chips/scratches/impefections anywhere on it. (its a 2 tone dark red and white) The interior is perfect and has had nothing added to it and it matches the exterior perfectly. This car is absolutly beautiful. Anyway the guy wants $8000 canadian (bout 6000 american) and probably wil come down in price. So what do you think is it worth it?
If I were you, or had the money I would definately buy it, it can only go up in value. From what you all said it don't sound like that bad of a price neither.
Id buy it in a heart beat, slip a 4 speed and set of 3:50 gears... and have a right snappy lil auto. But only if I was wealthy enough to not care about originality. I had a 65 Comet that was just so beautuful. I dont know why I sold half the nice cars Ive owned. I guess to get something else Id fallen in love with.
