Finally made the fill and adjustment video for the 6 speed trans. Many were asking for this video and there are allot of questions about it on the web. I hope this clarifies the procedure.

what in the world are you talking about! Someone always has something negative to say. There was no contamination, you mean spillage? Everything on that case is corrosion not dirt.

montecarlo, how would you do it differently? is there a tool, like a conventional dipstick tube, that you can put in place of the factory one and fill it from the top?

makuloco2000, is the 6r75's cooler aspect thermostatically controlled? I think some of the explorers' cooler lines were controlled by a thermostat, making flushing the transmission difficult. The flushing machine that will be used in flushing my tranny, 2007 expedition with 6r75, just hooks in-line with the cooler lines, but I know is ineffective if the fluid isn't warm enough (i.e. temps only achieve when being driven) and doesn't flow through the cooler. or can you drain the torque converter on these units?

The explorers had a external thermostatic valve so you could go around it but the 6r75 is in the case.
No convertor drains are present they did away with those years ago last I saw them most was 2002 on Ford transmissions.

So yes the trans must be very hot to flow and even if you got it hot enough it would be near impossible to keep it there for proper flow in and out of trans itself. So in Fords own words.............

Automatic Transmission — 6R75 2007 Expedition/Navigator

This transmission has an internal thermal bypass valve contained within the case. The thermal bypass valve will not allow the use of any type of transmission fluid exchange machine to be used on this transmission.

So anyone who has paid for a flush has gotten what? Nothing because the fluid will not move?
