I know this is an older thread but found out a little more on the setup I have. The double dvd look is actually a setup you can buy off the internet. The plastic surround matches the stock interior and you can have a spot where two monitors fit or a single monitor with factory air and another hole for player similar to the factory set up. I cant for the life of me find the website right now but If/when I do I will post it back up.
Sidenote. My monitors are not functioning. I will have to replace them with two other monitors at some point later on.
sorry for the multiple posts but I literally found the site after I posted the first. Here is what I found and this is where my unit came from. Discount Mobile Video and Rear Observation Systems
Not really cheap or "discount" but I figure if someone is really after this look then here it is.
Question for those who know? Would I be able to make this work?http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-05-FORD-LINCOLN-MERCURY-OVERHEAD-REAR-SEAT-DVD-TV-MONITOR-CONSOLE-/121253202939?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item1c3b410bfb&vxp=mtr#ht_206wt_955I am wanting a factory look. Says its out of an 04 Explorer.
I had a generic China 7" Drop Down DVD player laying around in the garage from a project 2-3yrs back
installed it and I think it works pretty nicely. It has 4 wireless RF headphones that keep the kids mostly quiet when we turn it on. Thinking about buying another one. Then there will be 1 per row
Subscribing, since I don't have any DVD or screen. My 05 Ex had the factory DVD, but hoping to put one in the 00.

I'd love to see the best way to install a system in a stock '00 with no factory DVD/screen. That's the only thing that my truck didn't come with and my kids would sure like to watch cartoons on those long drives....course maybe it's more practical and cost effective to buy another ipad...
