In 1999 all Rangers with manual transmissions came with MAZDA transmissions. The three different transmissions, one for 4 cylinder, one for 3.0L V6 and one for 4.0L V6 were all made by MAZDA. 3.0L and 4.0L transmissions were also available for 4x4 configuration, again all made by MAZDA. Transmissions for different engines have unique rear face of block bolt patterns so they are not interchangeable.
