Here's a pretty good article about the limo. This was a little bit before my time so, I don't have any memories of that day, but I found this article interesting and informative - I learned a couple of things I didn't know before...
If you're ever in the Detroit area a day or two at The Henry Ford complex is well worth your time. This car is parked next to the limo that they threw Ronald Reagan into right after he was shot.
Henry Ford's birthplace is there, moved from it's original site. So is the Wright Brother's bicycle shop, and Thomas Edison's Menlo Park, NJ, labs. Not reproductions, the actual buildings. Henry For bought them, had them disassembled and moved to Dearborn, MI, and put back together. It's really amazing.
You can also tour Dearborn Assembly plant where they are making F-150s. That tour only runs weekdays.
