electrical problem
later off the freeway and on a back road climbing a steep hill I had to floor it to get up the hill and the guage shot up again and this time the A/C blower sped up significantly and the warning light was on again.
Any idea as to what's going on???? luckily it got mne home, and I was able to avoind reving the engine so much...

Under hard acceleration the headlights and dashlights would dim.
I took it to a local alternator repair shop. It turned out that the commutator inside the alternator was worn and out of round. This would cause the brushes to bounce and allow less voltage to the system.
Put a new alternator on it and it runs fine again...
I can put the padal down all I want and it will be just fine...
Now it's at almost 226k miles on it with the original motor still running flawlessly, except with the normal ford valve noise on older engines... The original transmission has the same milage on it, and has not been rebuilt.. it is showing its age, but is still very drivable. when you stomp the gas it likes to slip down to many gears, and sometimes it goes hard between 3rd and OD, I just can't see getting it rebuilt yet though..
