The number on the grill itself isn't showing up yet either.
Oh I know I spent a good hour on the ford parts website looking in every spot I could think of that it might be. the closest I got was cutting the number down from EL34-17B698-A_W(AGW, we think) to 17B968 which left me with two options both labeled 17B968, the front bumper grill for the raptor and the front bumper grill for the harley davidson edition.
After looking at all the intercooler grills out there I want to try and find or have someone make a grill that matches the mesh in the bars of my grill with the running W king ranch brand in the center and paint it the same color as the bumper.
Looking for that grill that covers the opening in bumper
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get that little grill insert for front bumper on my truck that big hole in the middle of the front bumper is driving me crazy the dealer said there is an insert to close that hole up but i'm guessing its expensive from a dealer. any info on a cheaper after market solution is always welcome.
Thanks guys.
I used OEM Ford Parts | OEM Lincoln Parts | OEM Mercury Parts to get my parts and or find part numbers. It is actually a great tool to compare parts. I also use it to cross part numbers to make sure the parts jockey gave me the correct numbers.
I'm happy for someone to tell me that I'm wrong, but check out that first pic in the other Forum's thread. The "cover" doesn't appear to be much more than two vertical plastic bars. There is not a mesh or lattice type covering in front. The opening looks a little more "polished" or complete aesthetically.
unless you drive a lot of back country I just don't see the need for one. My wife's EB has 15k on it and there is no damage whatsoever to the IC. That's not saying some freak thing couldn't happen, but the odds are against it. I remember when Ford first came out with the '04's and I saw that they put the oil cooler for the power steering down low in front of the axle and my first thought was that it was an accident waiting to happen. Ford did move it later on, but when I got rid of my '05 with 75k on it there was no damage to the cooler even with taking it off road.
I disagree. You're more likely to get rock damage to the intercooler down there low than to your windshield, and think about how many people get rock chipped windshields. I got one less than a month after buying my 2012 F-150 used this summer.
