Replaced batteries again.
Including originals, i think i am on my 4th set of batteries. 3rd set only lasted two years, so i am disappointed in them. (AutoZone-manufactured by Johnson)
I am suprised at their price each. My purchase a few years ago was $97 and todays price is $140 (& the warranty has gone from 8 years to 5 years pro-rated for the battery). It still has the 3 year over-the counter warranty. I exchanged once before on this purchase so i paid $225 plus remaining warranty for the new batteries (ouch).

I just replaced my, believed to be stock battery's in my 02. I bought the truck used with 50K. i have owned it 7 years. I looked around for the best price for these battery's our trucks need. i found that Costco had the best price on battery's but i didn't have a Costco card. so the net best place was Ford. i walked out with two new Motorcraft 850's for $235 exchange. I could had got them at Costco for under $200 but i would had to get a Costco membership and that would had been over $250 with a new membership..

I just did mine! they lasted 3 yrs . They had a 3yr. free replace on mine but wouldn't ya know I was just over the 3 yrs. The drivers side was shot but they said the other was still good! But they could not guarantee how long! So I pro rated both. There new warr went from 3yrs free replace and then pro rate to 5yrs free replace and no pro rate. So if they wear like the last set I may be good for new ones in 3 yrs. Your right on the price ! I guess lead and gold must be on the same price plain!!

i have not bought a battery in 6 years now. i put costco batteries in everything.
they have a 3 year no questions asked warranty.
a month before the 3 years anniversary is up, i take the batteries back and trade them in for a new set. this works out good, because after 3 years they are getting tired.

I just replaced mine also with the AZ golds. - My last set were installed in 2008 & were the az golds. They gave me some money off the new ones cause the old ones were the 8 year pro rate. Be happy with 4 or 5 more years
