Automatic conversion
Got my 76 f250 high boy wonder what all was need to do a auto swap? I have the tranny just wondering about drive shaft length or any other possible issues thanks

Well, with a highboy the only driveshaft that is of any concern is the short trans-transfer case one......Both front and rear shafts, and transfer case remain stock.......compare how much longer your A/t is compared to the 4 speed, and youve got a rough idea of length. the driveshaft will be the easiest part........either a new steering column, or i suppose you could get an aftermarket floor shifter. tranny kickdown linkage from an FE powered Auto tranny truck, assuming you still have a 360/390..........I guess the biggest question is WHY?.
If you really want a highboy with an auto tranny, you would be time and money ahead to just buy one
