2001 F-150....Loud "pop"
We have a 2001 F-150. Today, after about 1 hour of driving we stopped at a light. As we went to pull away we heard a loud "pop" under the hood. There was no steam, or liquids, etc. The gauges are all fine. But, we sound like a dragster and it is missing, badly. We are "mechanically impaired" !!! Minor problem, drive it to the garage or.................MAJOR PROBLEM.....call the tow truck to take it to the garage.

Just an idea.
Check your spark plugs, maybe someone changed them and didn't get one screw in tight or at all.
Or you could have an exhaust leak, if you drove it home you should have an obvious area blackened on one side of the engine. IF YOU'RE NOT SURE, DON'T RUN IT. better safer than sorrier.
